The Lisa Loeb ProjectEvery now and then I partake in something so far-fetched and unlikely that the only response to it is a mocking guffaw at the impossibility. This is one of those excursions. The setup to an unlikely scenario which all will immediately dismiss as a failure. Yet I endeavor in it for hope that perhaps this life has reserved some special scene for those willing to expose their naked selves to the world. Uncaring of ridicule, I'm prepared to chart into a territory in which many would believe I don't belong.

Let me get to the point..... I am asking Lisa Loeb to join me on a date!

While I have often avoided Hollywood and admit to rolling my eyes numerous times at celebrities, I have found Lisa to be my exception. It began as a child-like crush and in many ways still is. It wasn't pure awe when I first saw her strumming a guitar on my television set. It was simply a curiosity, a slight smile on my face and the simple thought of how attractive this woman was.

It would have been left as that, allowing the memory to fade into non-existence but her interviews kept my interest. I initially thought her look, her girlish smile and her wistful mannerisms were likely the way she had been marketed to music fans. The more I heard her speak though, the more genuine she seemed. It was as if someone had taken the girl next door and bestowed upon her a captivating voice.

I found myself intrigued with her humble and playful attitude. Unlike so many other artists her voice seemed to have the occasional doubt, pronouncing a normal human aspect of uncertainty. She was beautifully imperfect. There was no gloating or stern seriousness and instead she seemed more like those of us who have only watched Hollywood from the outside.

I appreciated and respected her ability to find comfort in her own skin. Rather than selling music through sex, she wore her own style. Sensibly cute with a relaxed pose that seemed more attractive than having to show any extra skin.

That was how I saw her 12 years ago as I was young and hardly interested in the opposite sex. Though despite my youth I saw traits in her which a person of such a young age would rarely notice.

Returning to present day, nothing has changed. I find myself still clinging to a childhood crush and wondering if I will ever find a similar woman in my life. As time has passed I realize that there is only one Lisa Loeb and if I'm to at least grab an opportunity with such a woman then it must be no one but her.

I realize the way this open invitation to a date may appear. Crazed fans constantly push the limits in meeting celebrities, reaching to extreme levels. Myself, I am not a crazed fan. In fact, money aside, I have a hard time believing that those in Hollywood are any different than myself.

So Ms. Loeb, while this request may sound bizarre at best, I ask that you consider it. You have already broken the mold of Hollywood celebrity numerous times so why not do so by attempting a date outside of Hollywood?

Jayden dowell I may not be an actor or musician but my lifestyle is a worthy one, one that I am proud of. I'm not comparable to George Clooney though I maintain myself and believe there is an attractiveness to me. I don't have the money of a celebrity although I work hard and have a future which I believe will be wonderful.

What I'm trying to say is the obvious-- I may not be what you're used to. That is why I only ask for one date. One day out of the glamor to see if a common man can offer something to you.

For my readers, I will be attaching a PayPal link to later articles. I plan on raising money and donating it to the charity of Lisa Loeb's choice if she agrees to a date. If Lisa declines the offer, your money will still find a good home as the staff at Chaser Magazine will decide on a charity.

Any contributions are greatly appreciated and will be the fuel to drive this experiment.

Lisa, I hope to hear from you.
