Orr was a jaw-dropping skater, a rugged body-checker, and an offensive sensation that came onto a lackluster Bruins team and made them champions. He won a record 8 consecutive Norris trophies, and more than anything else, revolutionized the game. The way the game is played now owes more to Orr than to any single other player in history, because Orr was the first defenseman who not only thought to join the rush, but actually could. If you've never seen him play, you've never seen divinity on skates.

Bobby Orr wasn't the best offensive blueliner ever, that title goes to Coffey, and Harvey was the best in his own end of the rink. Bourque was the best combination of the 2 ends of the ice, but Orr was a pioneer. Orr was a brilliant, shining star of the game, who did everything at the highest level, but really was more about change. While Gretzky made all his teammates better players, Orr made every player in the NHL better. You think Pronger or Langway or Serge Savard should be on here? Well talk the talk, tough guy.
