In these troubled times, it's comforting to know that there is wisdom out there to answer any questions we might have. I'm not talking about Socrates or psychic friends, I'm talking about Yogi Berra, the greatest baseball philosopher that ever wasn't a baseball philosopher.
While Berra was famous as a catcher for the Yankees, and later as a manager, he is still most widely know for his classic isms, a few of which are still in common use today. Here are the Top 7 Berra-isms!

Tom Cruise. He's The Man. Even though you've heard rumors of him being gay, you know he can get any woman that you can't. You know he can get into any party, or any restaurant without reservations. He's made more money than god, and he's one of the most powerful and influential men in Hollywood.
The question is, what were his greatest moments on film? Which movies have made his career, and which roles made him your hero, more than others? Simply put, which film did you enjoy seeing Tom Cruise in the most? I'm glad you asked, here's your answer. |

There's an age-old debate about which player is best at which position, and none is older or more fiercely argued than that of who is the top Running Back in NFL history. This week's Top 7 List will settle this, once and for all (or at least until Edgerrin James busts his way onto the list). It's the old apples and oranges dilemma, how do you compare a back who ran 40 years ago, to one who's still going? You have to look at a lot of factors, like number of games played, the talent level in the league, and of course, how much better they were than their peers. You can also throw in that championship factor, but it doesn't carry nearly as much weight as it does with QB's, because runners aren't the generals on the field, they're just the artillery. For simplicity's sake, the player is listed with the team he spent the most time with. |

How do you make a list of the Top 7 drummers? You'd have to pick a genre, that's for sure, or else you'd be picking apples and oranges. There are a great many jazz drummers, but you might want to have a unique list for Latin jazz drummers, since that's such a different style, and that could even be branched off into Latin music. Would you have Poncho Sanzhez and Tito Puente on the same list? Oh never mind, I'm digressing.
On this list, we're talking rock drummers. That means no funk or soul drummers, unless they crossed over (as one did), and it means no jazz, country, or straight pop, although it's unlikely there'd be any great candidates from there, outside of Phil Collins. |

You read them as a kid, maybe even collected them like a maniac, afraid to miss an issue. You may have thought you outgrew them, but don't fool yourself, they're always with you. Comics are one of the great art forms of the 20th century, and while most of it really is trash, there are some truly awe-inspiring works out there. The Top 7 Graphic Novels is either a confirmation of what you're been reading recently, or else a reminder list of what you need to catch up on/revisit.
What is a graphic novel? It is sometimes just a collection of comics, bound together, but we're going to use the strictest definition here: a graphic novel is a self-contained series of comics, bound into one or more volumes. The difference, is that the first definition is just a reprint of various issues, and if we were going to do that, you'd see Daredevil: Born Again and some Sandman and Swamp Thing on the list. That, however, would be more like a 'best comic series' and that is not this. Here you are, then, the finest graphic novels ever put out. |
